MIDTERM REPORT Kuwait Corporation
Though I observed this report at its 80% completion point, the company apparently neither finished nor distributed this report.
Dr. Daniel R. Fruit Program Director
Letter from the President and Officers to the Stockholders:
Chief Executive Officer:
Dear Shareholders,
Through out the year our group worked hard to design and manufactures a magazine. Unfortunately we only managed to make one issue because of the pressure. As everyone knows K-business is only an extra curricular activity, so basically it's not the only thing we were working on.
Below are the reports of the individual officers.
Ziad Al-Qatami
Chief Financial Officer:Throughout the period that we have worked for k-business, we have not spent any money. We have collected 400 KD from the stocks as we have mentioned in our previous [unpublished] report, and we have gained 56 KD from selling the magazines. The magazines we sold for one KD per magazine.
Ahmad Al-Qamlas Vice President of Manufacturing:
In the course of about 2 months, Q8 Uncovered published a magazine, which the company sold. Through an arrangement with an advertiser, we did not have to pay for publication of these issues. Even though with this large amount of magazines left, I would think that this company has worked like never before and did its best to complete this year’s mission. The money that this company owns is about 120 KD. This is all I’ve got to say about this company. Thank you stockholders for reading this.
Hamad Al- Mufarrej
Vice President of Human Resources:Since I became the VP of Human Resources in only the second half of the time provided for the company, my actions towards the company were limited. Many of the work filed before I became VP of Human Resources were lost from the past VP.
I helped the company in a few ways other than being the VP of Human Resources. I was the one sent to reserve the soccer field for the tournament that never happened. The things that I did in the human resources field were the filing of the absences and attendance’s of the last 4 weeks.
Ahmad Al-Sabah Corporate Secretary:The Corporate Secretary resigned. In absence of an effective replacement, the CEO, CFO, and Dr. Dan handled final stockholder communication and reimbursement.
Dr. DanChief Information Officer (CIO):
As the CIO of the blue company I had to create a website (http://q8uncovere.cjb.net) which was kind of a failure simply due to the CEO and Corporate Secretary not providing information. I repeatedly asked both of them to hand in information about workers/officers for me to put up on the website, and they failed to do so. I don't think I'm to blame for it though.
Also as the CIO I had the honor of fixing the workers' technical problems, which varied extremely. Some of the problems were easy to overcome, while others were a bit more complex and needed hours of maintenance
Mohammad Al-Zabin
Marketing Manager:
We sold 56 magazines and earned 56 KD. Each magazine was sold for 1 KD. We sold only 1 issue of our magazine, Q8UNCOVERED, therefore we only earned 56 KD in income. If there had been more time, more than one issue of Q8UNCOVERED would have been published and our company, Q8 Corporation (Blue Group), would have been more successful and earned more money. Experience is also an important factor for business and organization, if the workers, share holders, and board of directors would have been more experienced and more organized more work would have been accomplished. Hopefully next year the companies and their works will be more experienced and more successful. For advertisement, flyers and posters were designed, made and were hung all around school, which is where the magazine was sold.
Sara Al-Fouzan
In Conclusion:
As far as everything goes, I've enjoyed working with everyone, and learnt a lot about the magazine business. I thank each and every staff member who helped us through out the year.
Yours Sincerely,
Ziad Al-Qatami
